Paul Wheelhouse

Paul is a professional economist and, since 1992, had specialised in higher and further education markets, policy evaluation and economic appraisal and impact assessment of capital projects.

As his time as a Minister, Paul Wheelhouse has served as Minister for Environment and Climate Change from 2012 to 2014 before being appointed Minister for Community Safety and Legal Affairs. Paul was appointed Minister for Business, Innovation and Energy in May 2016 and subsequently he was appointed Minister for Energy, Connectivity and the Islands, a post that he took up in the summer of 2018.
