Overview

Gain a better understanding of your actual well position with real-time measurement-while-drilling (MWD) and logging-while-drilling (LWD) services in the Baker HughesOnTrak™ integrated MWD and LWD system. With measurements taken close to the bit, the system assures that your wellbore stays on track to the most productive zones of your reservoir.

Effective reservoir navigation

The OnTrak integrated MWD and LWD system collects wellbore data through a suite of directional and formation evaluation measurements. In addition to pressure and drilling dynamics monitoring, the system delivers accurate azimuthal gamma ray and propagation resistivity for your formation. Other measurements include directional surveys, temperature, and annular pressure.

Data is transmitted through reliable mud-pulse telemetry, which affords real-time downhole measurements from a single sub. The OnTrak integrated MWD and LWD system can also be combined with all other Baker Hughes LWD services and theaXcelerate™ high-speed mud-pulse and wired-pipe telemetry servicefor a clearer picture of the downhole environment. This allows you to drill faster, farther, and safer.

Our reservoir navigation engineers use the gamma ray images collected by the system to make better steering decisions that optimally place your well. Low-frequency resistivity measurements provide an early indication of approaching bed boundaries. High-frequency resistivity measurements help pinpoint thin beds and fluid contacts in your reservoir with superior vertical resolution.

Gain even greater positional certainty by combining the MWD measurements from our integrated system with near-bit inclination from the Baker HughesAutoTrak™ rotary closed-loop system. Together, these systems allow for more efficient steering decisions, less risk of remedial directional drilling, and a greater opportunity to maximize your reservoir exposure and future production.
