Get assured bidirectional zonal isolation, without the need for an expensive intervention, with the X-AFV recloseable annular flow valve from Baker Hughes.

When deployed in the upper interval of your multizone completion, the X-AFV isolates a concentric flow path created between the isolation string inside the screen and blank pipe assembly. You get positive zonal isolation after stimulation treatments have been completed and fluid loss control during production installation—without pressure sensitivity that could prematurely open or close the valve.

Reliably deploy and activate—without premature opening

The X-AFV is hydraulically actuated by creating a preset inner diameter (ID)-to-outside diameter (OD) differential across the actuating piston. This recloseable valve actuation method you operate multiple fluid loss control valves in the same pressure cycle. And because actuation is interventionless, you can reduce both your operational risk and project costs. The valve includes a balancing feature that prevents treating pressure from prematurely shearing and shifting the actuating piston until the production seals are landed. Formation pressure has no effect on valve actuation.

Unlike a conventional annular flow valve (AFV), the X-AFV can be reclosed to isolate the production zone after production is initiated—and you can mechanically reopen and reclose the valve an unlimited number of times. The valve provides unrestricted flow paths when open to maximize your production rates.

The X-AFV is ideal for use in deepwater intelligent completions where mechanical access is not possible, deviated wellbores, completion designs with limited tubing inside diameter (ID) access, and multizone completions.

SLCM™ series isolation valves from Baker Hughes are high-performance, nonelastomeric valves that give you reliable communication and flow control between your tubing and annulus.

These proven devices allow for versatility during installation of a gravel-packed completion while providing a reliable inflow device during selective production once the completion is installed. The SLCM’s small outside diameter allows it to be placed into gravel pack screens without any modifications.

SLCM valve options include the SLCMD for downward opening and SLCMU for upward opening. Each valve features either a long- and short-slot profile insert to allow you to independently operate multiple SLCMs and control production from multiple zones.

Ensure reliable, robust operation any time

The valves may be opened and closed an unlimited number of times, giving you an economical circulation and selective-zone production option for the life of the well. The valves may be shifted open or closed using a variety of standard wireline methods and tools. Should the SLCM valve be installed in a highly deviated or horizontal completion where standard wireline methods are not possible, it can be shifted open or closed with coiled tubing or a range of shifting tools.

The SLCM series isolation valves are designed with standard features, including BX™ nipple profile, RTS–8™ and BST-8 box x pin end connections, 10,000 psi (689 bar) burst and collapse rating, and a nominal pressure opening differential of 1,500 psi (103 bar).

And to ensure compatibility with your completion fluids and drilling muds, the valves are available in different standard material configurations for standard service. For corrosive service (NACE), the valve is available in 17-4 PH stainless steel.

The Secure Inner Flow Valve (IFV) from Baker Hughes gives you reliable, robust isolation between multiple production zones while stimulating your upper zones. Placed in the lowest zone of your stacked completions, the Secure IFV uses a concentric flow path to allow production fluid from the lower zone to produce up the radial annulus between the screen and the concentric pipe and into the tubing.

Ensure efficient installation and reliable operation

The Secure IFV is installed above the blank screen joint, with its seal assembly stabbed into the sealbore below your last screen joint. The valve will remain closed during your lower and upper zone completions—ensuring isolation and improving the efficiency of your operations.

Once you’re ready to open the valve, the upper zone concentric string seal assembly is stabbed into the lower concentric valve. Tubing pressure is applied from surface to shear the Secure IFV’s screws at a predetermined shear value. This activates a metering device, which cycles for approximately 15 minutes with inhibited water before the valve shifts open. The metering process begins at the same time that pressure from the surface is bled off, providing further efficiency gains to bring the lower zones into production.

Get assured fluid loss control in your multizone completions with the SAF-1 Hydraulic Selectaflow™ valve from Baker Hughes.

A reservoir isolation device in the downhole sand control assembly, the SAF-1 Selectaflow valve is typically installed in the top zone of a multi-zone completion. The valve, in conjunction with concentric isolation tubing, provides complete loss control during installation of your upper completion.

The valve is remotely actuated by applying hydraulic pressure to the production tubing, which initiates production from the isolated zone. In a dual-string completion, actuation pressure is applied through either the long string or the short string. As a backup actuation option, the SAF-1 Selectaflow valve may also be mechanically opened with a standard B-type shifting tool.

The SAF-1 Selectaflow valve gives you assured flow by remaining permanently locked open and incorporating optimized flow areas. The valve is available with a 13 ksi collapse rating, making it ideal for frac pack applications. Casing exit operations provide a way to access a reservoir zone from an existing wellbore. However, milling a clean casing window in a single trip is not efficiently and consistently achieved. In more complex offshore wells, the failure rate could be as high as 20 percent, due to additional trips caused by failure of downhole equipment or suboptimal window quality that requires additional window polishing. Non-optimal milling parameters could lead to excessive vibration and other downhole milling dysfunctions –reducing milling efficiency, and in the worst cases, causing downhole tool failures.

The xSight service collects well data pre-job to conduct risk assessments and provide recommended milling parameters based on data analytics models, which have been trained from historical data sets and validated by performance improvement in the field. Data sets from historical jobs are used to develop predictive and prescriptive models. In this manner, well details, BHA details, downhole data, and surface data provide a holistic perspective on your casing exit operation. Accurate downhole measurements eliminate uncertainty and provide reliable input data for analytics modeling.

During operations, advanced analytics are used with real-time downhole measurements to enable data-driven decision making. Prescriptive analytics, coupled with real-time downhole measurements, ensure the best operating envelope while enforcing accurate control, combined with a corrective action roadmap during milling. This approach helps you optimize rotational speed (RPM), weight on bit (WOB) control, torque-on-bit (TOB), vibration, ROP, and window quality.

After the job, data is collected from the rig and downhole tools to enable post job analytics. This includes key performance indicators (KPIs) and data visualizations to describe job performance and to provide future recommendations, enabling real-time optimization and continuous improvement.
